India records the lowest figure of deaths due to coronavirus infection since 26 April 2021, with 2,713 deaths in the last 24 hours. The downward trend of the number of new COVID19 cases has also continued with around 1.32 lakhs new cases recorded in the last 24 hours.

The Union Health Ministry data released on the morning of Friday, June 4, 2021, showed a minimal decline in new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours with 1,32,364 more people testing positive.
The cumulative figure of total COVID cases in India on Friday now reaches 2,85,74,350; this is the highest across the world. The cumulative figure of deaths due to coronavirus infection now stands at 3,40,702.
Further, the recoveries surpassed the fresh infections for the twenty-second day straight with 2,07,071 getting discharged. This has taken the cumulative discharges in the country to 2,65,97,655.
