Terrorist attack in Baramulla, 2 CRPF Jawans, and 1 J&K cop martyred

In a tragic event reported from the Kashmir valley, two CRPF soldiers and one Special Police Officer (SPO) of Jammu and Kashmir Police lost their lives in the line of duty.
As per the reports, a group of unidentified gunmen opened fire on a joint patrolling team of CRPF and J&K Police in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on the wee hours of Monday, August 17.
“The two CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) soldiers who were injured in the Baramulla attack today have succumbed to injuries,” said Vijay Kumar, Inspector-General, Jammu & Kashmir Police.
The security forces have cordoned off the area and are now conducting the search operation to arrest the terrorists.
While the Special Police Officer died on the spot, the two CRPF soldiers were rushed to a nearby hospital, but could not survive and succumbed to their injuries.
This is a second such attack on the security forces in the last 24 hours in the north Kashmir region. On Sunday, August 16, terrorists had targeted a joint team of forces in orchards of Sopore village.
