It was already anticipated that Shehla Rashid, one of the prime members of the so-called “Tukde Tukde Gang” is involved in some anti-national activities. After all, why on earth a person will shout “Bharat tere tukde honge, Insha Allah, Insha Allah”. And this anticipation moved a bit closer to a very scary reality when Shehla’s father Abdul Rashid Shora confirmed that her daughter is a part of anti-national groups and she has been paid for that.
Abdul Rashid Shora accused Shehla of having taken Rs 3 crores for joining separatist politics in Kashmir valley. Shehla’s father has also demanded a probe into the NGOs being run by her and the bank accounts of his daughters and their mother.
In a letter written to the DGP, J&K Police, Abdul Rashid sought personal security as he claimed that Shehla, her sister, and her mother have denied him entry to his own house, and his life is in threat as he refused to support their activities.
“I also request you to order investigations into the conduct of Sakib and his associated, bank details of Shehla Rashid, Asma Rashid, Zubaida and Sakib, property acquired by them at New Delhi, their e-mail accounts and their mysterious financial dealings with Feroz Peerzada, Zahoor Vatali and Rashid Engineer and notorious activities being done by them in the name of Empowerment of Women and Social Justice NGO,” said Abdul Rashid in his letter.
Meanwhile, Shehla has quickly refuted all the charges alleged by her father. Instead, she counter-alleged his father and called him a ‘wife-beater, abusive and depraved man’. In a series of tweets Shehla said that when the family ‘decided to act against him’, he stooped down to this stunt.
Whatever the truth is, these allegations by her own father have raised big questions on Shehla Rasid’s clarifications. Her colleague from JNU Umar Khaleed is already being interrogated for his roles in the Delhi Riots. With such controversies arising, Shehla might soon join Umar behind the bars.
