Security forces kill 4 terrorists in an encounter in Shopian, J&K

Good news comes from the Kashmir valley as four terrorists are reported to be eliminated by the Indian armed forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has confirmed that on Friday, August 28, terrorists have been killed in an encounter conducted in Kiloora area of the Shopian district.

The Kashmir Zone Police broke this news through a tweet. It said, “Shopian Encounter Update: 02 unidentified terrorists killed. Operation going on. Further details emerging.”

The Police further tweeted, “Terrorist Shakoor Parray Al Badr District commander and another terrorist Suhail Bhat who #abducted and killed Khanmoh’s Panch #neutralised in today’s encounter”.

The security forces have surrounded the region and are conducting the search operation.

As per the sources, the encounter started when a group of terrorists opened fire on the security forces near an apple orchard in Kiloora village. Sources confirmed that a joint team of J&K Police, 44RR, and CRPF has launched the cordon and search operation.

The security forces have, so far, eliminated more than 150 terrorists in the Kashmir valley in the year 2020. This includes the top 26 commanders of the terrorist organizations killed in the south Kashmir region.
