Schools in Delhi to remain shut till 31st July: Manish Sisodia

The schools in Delhi will remain shut till July 31st, informed Manish Sisodia. Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that this decision has been taken due to the increasing cases of Coronavirus.

Manish Sisodia, who also happens to Delhi’s Education Minister, met the officials of the Directorate of Education (DoE) on Friday, June 26. The meeting was to discuss the ways to reopen the schools.

The government sources had already indicated that there is a very minuscule chance for the schools to open in July. The government is closely monitoring the situation of coronavirus in the state. It doesn’t want to take any chance with the school children in this grim situation.

Delhi has more than 70,000 COVID19 cases and is the second worst-hit state after Maharashtra. Experts estimate that at the current growth rate, the number of coronavirus cases might surpass Maharashtra as well in the next 15-20 days.
