Sachin Pilot sends legal notice to Rajasthan Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga

The political drama in Rajasthan is getting murkier day by day. Giving it back to the Congress Party, Sachin Pilot, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan and Pradesh Congress Committee Chief has, on Tuesday, July 21, sent a legal notice to the Congress MLA Giriraj Singh Malinga. The Congress MLA had claimed that Sachin Pilot offered him Rs 35 crore as a bribe to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Sachin Pilot has sued Malinga for “the false and malicious statement” that he made in front of the media. Confirming about the legal notice, Sachin Pilot’s office issued a statement that said, “Sources close to Sachin Pilot, ex-Deputy CM, have informed that he has served Giriraj Malinga MLA a legal notice for the false and malicious statement made by him to the press yesterday.”

Sachin Pilot also gave his reaction to the claims made by his party colleague and partner in the Rajasthan Government. Pilot said, “I am saddened but not surprised to be at the receiving end of such baseless and vexatious allegations being leveled against me. This is done solely to malign me and to stifle the legitimate concerns that I had raised against the party leadership of the state, as a member and MLA of INC. This attempt further aims at defaming me and attack my credibility.”

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan High Court on Tuesday, July 21, directed the Legislative Assembly Speaker to postpone any action on disqualification notices to Pilot and 18 other Congress MLAs till July 24.  The court is expected to give its verdict on Friday, July 24.
