Pakistan Cricket Board struggling hard to find a sponsor for the team

The Pakistan Cricket Board appears to be into a deep financial crisis as it does not have any sponsor ahead of the series against England. Pakistan’s tour of England will start on August 5 with three Tests, the two countries’ cricket boards confirmed on Monday.

Currently, there is no logo placed on the jersey of the Pakistan cricket team. All the logos have been withdrawn.

Sources say that the Board is trying hard to find a sponsor before the series. It is negotiating left, right and center with some multi-national beverage companies. The deal has not been struck so far as the amount offered by the companies appear too low for the Board to give a go-ahead.

The PCB’s marketing department has also failed to find sponsors for its domestic fixtures. If this continues, the board will have to bear all the expenses of the 12 provincial teams. During the time when the COVID19 has broken Pakistan’s already doomed economy, bearing such huge cost seems difficult for the Pakistan Cricket Board.
