Number of COVID-19 cases in India crosses 4-lakh mark, records 15,413 new cases in a single day

And finally, the coronavirus cases in India cross the 4 lakh mark. With the highest single-day rise of 15,413 new cases in the last 24 hours, the total COVID-19 infected cases now stand at 4,10,416.

The Ministry of Health informed that as on Sunday, June 21 morning, there are 1,69,451 active coronavirus cases in India as 2,27,756 cases have been cured successfully. The recovery rate in India has improved to 55.48 percent.

The Health Ministry also informed that the COVID death toll has also increased to 13,254 with 306 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours.

More than 70 percent of the total COVID-19 cases still cater to 5 states. Out of these Maharashtra remains the top contributor, followed by Tamil Nadu, Delhi, and Gujarat.

In Maharashtra, the total number of confirmed cases surged to 1,28,205, whereas, Delhi’s total tally increased to 56,746. Following the instructions set by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Delhi Government has put an upper cap on the price of COVID testing in the national capital region. The patients will be charged not more the Rs 2,400.
