
After dedicating three petroleum projects worth Rs 900 crore to the people of Bihar on September 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of seven more infrastructure-related projects in Bihar.
PM Modi, on September 15, will once again brief the people of Bihar via video conferencing and will lay down the foundation stone of projects that will enhance the urban infrastructure in Bihar. Out of the total seven projects that Narendra Modi will inaugurate, four projects are related to water supply, two to sewerage treatment, and one to the riverfront development.
These seven projects are estimated to cost around Rs 540 crore. BUIDCO has undertaken the development of these projects under the Urban Development and Housing Department of Bihar.
The Sewerage treatment plant is to be built under the Namami Gange project at Beur and Karmalichak areas respectively in Patna Municipal Corporation.
Under the AMRUT Mission, PM will lay down the foundation stone of the Muzaffarpur Riverfront Development Scheme. Under this project, Poorvi Akhada Ghat, Seedhi Ghat, and Chandwara Ghat will be developed. Basic facilities like toilets, information kiosks, changing rooms, pathways, watchtower, etc will be made available at the riverfront.
PM will also lay the foundation stone of the Munger water supply scheme under the AMRUT Mission. The scheme will help residents of Munger Municipal Corporation get pure water through pipelines. The foundation stone of the Jamalpur water supply scheme under the AMRUT Mission, in Jamalpur Municipal Council, will also be laid.
Bihar is an election-bound state when the assembly elections are expected to happen in the months of November – December 2020.
