Mumbai Sessions Court rejects Rhea Chakraborty’s bail petition

Rhea has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for her alleged role in the drugs angle that emerged during the investigation into the death of Sushant.

The Mumbai Sessions Court, on Friday, September 11, rejected the bail petitions filed by Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty. Both Rhea and Showik will now have to serve the judicial custody till September 22.

Rhea has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for her alleged role in the drugs angle that emerged during the investigation into the death of Sushant.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had arrested both Rhea and Showik in the drug case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. NCB found traces of a big drug cartel that is active in Bollywood. NCB also found Rhea and Showik’s involvement in that drug cartel. NCB, thus, chose to oppose the bail plea filed by the advocate Satish Manishinde.

The whole episode started when the NCB received official communication from Enforcement Directorate (ED). The ED shared with NCB a list of chats related to drug consumption, procurement, usage, and transportation in connection with the Sushant Singh Rajput case.
