Mumbai Court to deliver verdict on Rhea Chakraborty’s bail plea

Currently, both Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik are in judicial custody till September 22

The Session Court in Mumbai, which is hearing the bail petition of actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, is expected to deliver its decision on Friday, September 11, at around 11:00 am. The court has completed the hearing on Thursday itself and had reserved the verdict.

Currently, both Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik are in judicial custody till September 22.

Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Tuesday for her alleged involvement in a drug case linked to late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. In her confession statement given to the NCB, Rhea had accepted her involvement in the drug dealing business. Some of the other drug peddlers arrested by the NCB also confirmed Rhea’s involvement.

On the other hand, Rhea’s brother Showik has been arrested on the charges of financing illicit traffic and harboring offenders under Section 27 A of the NDPS Act.

If found guilty, both brother and sister can be sent to imprisonment for not less than 10 years and can be fined Rs 2 lakh.
