Mumbai and adjoining districts to receive heavy rainfall in the next 24 hrs

The Met Department has issued an ‘Orange Alert’ for heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours in Mumbai and other surrounding regions. The warning says that heavy rains and strong winds are expected in the next 24 hours in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Palghar districts of Maharashtra.
Mumbai and Thane have already received over 120 mm of rainfall in the last 48 hours.
According to the Met department, the Matheran observatory in adjoining Raigad district recorded 122 mm rainfall. The Alibaug weather station recorded 49 mm rain during the 24-hour period. Ratnagiri in the Konkan cost received 83 mm of rainfall.
