India’s COVID19 tally crosses 7.6 lakh mark, recovery rate improves to 62%

The number of coronavirus cases in India is increasing at an alarming rate. India recorded its highest single-day spike of 24,879 cases on Wednesday, July 8. With this, the total number of COVID infected patients in India stands at 7,67,296. The death toll due to coronavirus has also increased to 21,129.
India is the third worst-affected country in the world after US and Brazil.
As per the data shared by the Ministry of Health, India has 4,76,377 recovered cases and 2,69,789 active cases as on Thursday, July 9.
The ministry also informed that around 62.08%of patients have recovered so far from coronavirus infection.
Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state with cases reaching up to 2,23,724 and 9,250 casualties so far. Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state with a total of 1,22,350 cases, including 1,700 deaths. Delhi, with 2,033 new coronavirus cases and 48 deaths in the last 24 hours, is the third worst-hit state having 1,04,864 COVID19 cases and 3,213 deaths.
