India’s COVID-19 cases touch new high, record 12,881 new cases in a single day

The number of coronavirus cases in India is rising with record numbers every day. In the last 24 hours, India recorded 12,881 new COVID-19 cases.

The total number of infections now stands at 3,66,946. The total number of deaths due to coronavirus in India has risen to 12,237 with 334 new casualties recorded on Thursday, June 18.  

The Ministry of Health informs that for the seventh day in a row India has recorded more than 10,000 single-days COVID-19 cases. Maharashtra alone recorded 3,307 positive coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu recorded 2,174 new cases in a single day. Delhi also recorded 2,414 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours. Delhi is the third worst-hit state in India.

However, coming as the silver lining amidst the clouds is the fact that the recovery rate from COVID-19in India is now more than 53%. This means that out of the total 3,66,946 cases, 1,94,324 patients have successfully recovered.
