India records the highest single-day spike of 22,771 COVID cases

The number of coronavirus infected patients in India is rising at an alarming rate. For the second consecutive day, India recorded more than 20,000 cases. As per data shared by the Ministry of Health, on Saturday, July 4, India recorded 22,771 COVID cases. With this, the total number of COVID infected cases reached to the tally of 6,48,315. This includes 2,35,433 active cases, and 3,94,227 cured cases.
Maharashtra still remains the worst affected state with more than 1,92,000 cases. Unfortunately, the Mumbai Police has emerged as the worst affected frontline organizations. In the last 24 hours, 237 police personnel were tested positive in Maharashtra. Â
However, the rate of recovery from the coronavirus infection has improved to 60.80%.
The number of daily tests has also increased significantly. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) on Saturday said that the total number of samples tested up to July 3 is 95,40,132 of which 2,42,383 samples were tested yesterday.
India has approved the Rapid Antigen testing system that helped the authorities to amplify the testing measures significantly.
