India records highest single-day rise in COVID19 cases, total crosses 8-lakh mark

The single-day spike in coronavirus cases in India is breaking records every day. On Saturday, July 11, India recorded the highest single-day spike of 27,114 COVID19 cases. With this, the total number of COVID19 cases in India has crossed 8 lakh mark and now stands at 8,20,916.
The Ministry of Health informed that out of the 8 lakhs plus cases, 2,83,407 cases are active and 5,15,387 cases have been cured. The death toll due to coronavirus stands at 22,123.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, 1,13,07,002 samples tested for COVID19 till July 10, of these 2,82,511 samples were tested on Friday.
The Union Health Ministry also informed that the national fatality rate for Covid-19 patients has declined to 2.72 percent. The majority of the cases are concentrated among 6 states – Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
