India records 20,903 new cases in 24 hours, highest single-day spike so far

For the first time, India recorded more than 20,000 coronavirus cases in a single day. On July 03, 2020, India recorded 20,903 new cases. With this, the total number of infected patients in India stood at 6,25,544. The total deaths rose to 18,213, said the Ministry of Health.
Maharashtra remains the most affected state in India. With 6364 new coronavirus cases reported in the last 24 hours, the total number of COVID19 patients in Maharashtra crosses a 1.9 lakh mark. Maharashtra recorded 198 deaths on Friday, July 03, 2020. The total cases now stand at 1,92,990 in Maharashtra.
However, the good news is that the recovery rate in India from coronavirus pandemic has improved to 60.73%. In the last 24 hours, 20,033 patients recovered from COVID19. So far, 3,79,891 patients have recovered from the deadly pandemic in India. The number of active cases now stands at 2,27,439.
The ministry of health said that there has been a significant improvement in the number of tests as well in India. Around 93 lakh samples being tested to date pan India. During the last 24 hours, 2,41,576 samples have been tested.
