ICMR questions the authenticity of the study claiming ‘COVID Peak in November’, call it fake

Giving a new twist to the tale of the COVID curve in India, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has denied its own research! Yes, it appears bizarre but this is what it is.
Today, ICMR clarified that it did not publish any research that claimed the peak of COVID-19 in India will come in November. Interestingly, this ‘controversial’ research report created huge confusion among the general public.
India is already at the 4th most coronavirus infected county in the world. The number of COVID-19 patients has crossed 3 lakh mark. If the pick is shifted to November, it would create a huge scarcity of ICU beds and ventilators in the country. This indeed was a very disturbing finding of the research.
The Press Information Bureau (PIB), also questioned the authenticity of the study and isolated ICMR from it. PIB termed the research ‘misleading’.
