Huge explosion in the pharma chemical factory at Vizag

A major fire exploded in the Jawahar Lal Nehru Pharma City at Parawada near Visakhapatnam on Monday night leaving a few injured, however, there is no news of causalities as of now. Several fire tenders have rushed to the venue immediately.

The locals heard a series of light explosion before the major fire blow out. The main reason for the fire is yet not known. The fire incident is reported to have occurred in the Coastal Waste Management Project. Coincidentally, this is the same area where a gas leak was reported on June 30 at Sainor Life Sciences Pharma unit.

State Industries Minister M Goutham Reddy spoke to Visakhapatnam district Collector and ordered the administration to evacuate all the workers. He also asked the fire service personnel and police to be on high alert. There are about 80 units in the Pharma City. The fire is so big that officials are worried it could spread to neighboring factories as well, however, the light rain in the city is helping to gulp down the fire.

Locals of the area are in a state of panic as there have been a series of leakages in the recent months that have led to the deaths of some and many were admitted in the emergency ward of hospitals.
