Home Minister Amit Shah tests positive for COVID19

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also tested positive for COVID19. in a tweet on Sunday, August 2, Amit Shah, who is 55 years of age, informed that he was having symptoms of coronavirus infection. When tested, he has come positive.

Home Minister also informed that, though he is only having mild symptoms and is keeping well. Still, on the advice of the doctors, he is getting admitted to the hospital.

The Union Home Minister also appealed to those who came into close contact with him in the last few days to get themselves tested for COVID-19.

“I request those who came in contact with me in the last few days to get tested for coronavirus and isolate themselves,” he wrote in a message on Twitter. 

Thus, Amit Shah becomes the first minister from the Union Cabinet to get infected by Coronavirus. Entire country, including many politicians have wished Amit Shah a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, India has reported 54,000 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 17,50,723. The country also witnessed 853 COVID19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said.
