The Union Home Minister also appealed to those who came into close contact with him in the last few days to get themselves tested for COVID-19.
“I request those who came in contact with me in the last few days to get tested for coronavirus and isolate themselves,” he wrote in a message on Twitter.
Thus, Amit Shah becomes the first minister from the Union Cabinet to get infected by Coronavirus. Entire country, including many politicians have wished Amit Shah a speedy recovery.
Meanwhile, India has reported 54,000 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 17,50,723. The country also witnessed 853 COVID19 related deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said.
