Drishyam fame director Nishikant Kamat passes away

Nishikant Kamat, the ‘Drishyam’ famed director has passed away in Hyderabad on Monday, August 17. Kamat was being treated for cirrhosis of the liver. It is reported that he succumbed during the treatment.

Nishikant has left behind some of the most famous ‘critically-acclaimed’ movies in both Marathi and Hindi. He made his directorial debut with Marathi film, Dombivali Fast, in 2005 for which he received National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2006.

Nishikant Kamat was only 50. Some of Kamat’s other memorable Bollywood films are jay Devgn-Tabu starrer Drishyam, Irrfan Khan-starrer Madaari, and the John Abraham starrer Force and Rocky Handsome.
