Delhi’s MLA Atishi tests positive for coronavirus

Aam Aadmi Party’s MLA from Kalkaji constituency, Atishi has tested positive for COVID-19. Atishi’s coronavirus tests were conducted on Tuesday, June 16 when she complained of mild fever, sore throat, and cough. The report came out today which says she is positive for novel coronavirus.
She is the third MLA from her party to have tested positive for the coronavirus; the other two are Vishesh Ravi (Karol Bagh) and Rajkumar Anand (Patel Nagar).
Delhi Chief Minister and AAP’s chief Arvind Kejriwal and his Health Minister Satyendra Jain also did their COVID-19 tests last week when both of them had similar symptoms. Fortunately, their test reports came negative.
Delhi is the third worst-hit state in India with COVID-19 cases crossing 44 thousand marks. More than 1000 cases have been reported continuously for the last few days. In the last 24 hours, 1859 cases have been reported in Delhi.
It seems the Delhi government is failing measurably in the fight against coronavirus. The Supreme Court has also criticized the government for its mismanagement. The Supreme Court had earlier described the situation in Delhi as “horrendous, horrific and pathetic”. Today the Supreme Court has once again ordered the Delhi government that it cannot control and manipulate the facts. The court said, “You cannot threaten doctors for bringing out the truth”.
