It must have been a ‘deja vu’ moment for Jyotiraditya Scindia when he tweeted alleging Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot of persecuting Sachin Pilot. Indeed, many similar incidences must have flashed before his eyes.

And why not! Jyotiraditya Scindia had also been given time to meet by Sonia Gandhi in the month of March 2020. And, like Sachin Pilot, he had also denied meeting the Congress leadership. He was also sidelined by the state and central leadership for long, similarly the way Sachin pilot has been sidelined. He also had a political career to save, the way Sachin Pilot is looking for options to save his political career.
The tweet by Jyotiraditya Scindia tells a lot about the leadership inside the Congress party. It talks about how everything revolves around a single-family. It tells how everyone has to follow the orders given by the 10 Janpath, irrespective of the talent, mass appeal, or the experience.
Though Scindia tweeted about Sachin Pilot, somehow he narrated his own story. He told everyone how he was treated inside the party by his own colleagues. He expressed his grief over the fact that one more talented personality has to make his ways away from the 10 Janpath.
And at last, Jyotiraditya Scindia asks a question. He asks for how long this grand old party can afford to behave like a naive. For how long the mass leaders have to take orders from a family. And, for how long the public will tolerate such ignorance!
There is no doubt that during their time, Madhavrao Scindia and Rajesh Pilot were more capable and popular leaders than Rajiv Gandhi. They were more deserving to lead the party from the front. And similarly, there is no doubt that Jyotiradya Scindia and Sachin Pilot are more popular and competent leaders than Rahul Gandhi. The only difference one can draw is that there was no popular alternative to Congress during the 80s and 90s. But there is one today.
