COVID19 vaccines in India to be available by the begining of 2021
Dr. Harsh Vardhan, on Thursday, September 17, informed the members of Rajya Sabha that the testing of vaccine for coronavirus infection is at an advanced stage in India and the same should be ready by the beginning of the next year.

“Just like other countries, India is also making efforts. Three vaccine candidates are in different phases. Under Prime Minister’s guidance, an expert group is looking at it and there is advanced planning in place. We are hopeful that by the start of next year a vaccine will be available in India,” Dr. Harsh Vardhan said in Rajya Sabha.

In India, Zydus Cadila and Bharat Biotech are working on two indigenous vaccines. Both these companies are completing the 1st phase of the trails. On the other hand, the Serum Institute of India has also got the approval from the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) to restart the 2nd and 3rd phases of the clinical trials for the COVID19 vaccine.
Meanwhile, India registered a record single-day increase of 97,894 coronavirus infections on Thursday. With this, the total tally of COVID-19 cases crossed 51 lakh mark. The number of recoveries also increased. As on Thursday, more than 40 lakh patients have recovered from coronavirus infections in India.
