COVID-19 Death Toll figure rises to 11,000 in India

As the revised figures of deaths due to coronavirus come from Delhi and Maharashtra, the total death toll in India crosses the ten thousand marks. The total number of COVID cases also reaches three lakh fifty thousand marks. The latest count stands at 3,54,065 including 1,89,935 cured cases and 11,903 deaths.

One thing that infuses some hope is the fact that the recovery rate has risen to 52.79%. This update was shared by the Union Health Ministry.

India remains to be the world’s fourth worst-hit nation in terms of a total number of confirmed cases. Countries ahead of India are the US, Brazil, and Russia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi once again has started a video conference meeting with the state chief ministers to take stock on states’ preparedness. On June 16, PM Modi talked to heads of those states that performed better in containing coronavirus spread. On June 17, he will talk to the other states that are struggling to control the spread of COVID-19.
