Coronavirus cases in India cross 48 lakh mark with 78% recovery rate

out of 48 lakh patients, around 38 lakhs have already recovered. This takes the national recovery rate to 78%. As confirmed by the Ministry of Health, the fatality rate in India also dropped to 1.64%.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has confirmed that India has tested around 5,83,12,273 samples till September 14 to detect coronavirus infections. ICMR, in its statement, also informed that around 10,72845 tests were done on Monday, September 14 alone.

The number of coronavirus infected patients in India crossed 48 lakh mark on Monday, September 14, with around 92,071 cases added in a single day. Around 79,722 patients succumbed to the infection, with 1,136 deaths happening on September 14.

On the positive side, out of 48 lakh patients, around 38 lakhs have already recovered. This takes the national recovery rate to 78%. As confirmed by the Ministry of Health, the fatality rate in India also dropped to 1.64%. The health ministry also informed that more than 70% of the deaths occurred due to comorbidities.
