Abhishek Bachchan’s debut in web series with Breathe Into The Shadows failed to hold the grip of audience attention in spite of being a series of the thriller genre.
In Part 1 of the ‘Breathe’ Series, we see Madhavan playing the role of a father of an ill child who goes on a spree of killing people to save the life of his dying child. In Part 2, we see Abhishek Bachchan donning the hat of a father whose daughter gets kidnapped and he starts killing people as per the demand of the kidnapper to save his daughter’s life.
Both the series are directed by Mayank Sharma. Both the series justify that for the sake of a family, one can go beyond laws but the treatment makes it slow, loosely integrated, and poor dialogues.
Abhishek Bachchan is accompanied by Nithya Menon who plays his wife and Ivana Kaur who acts as his daughter. The joining thread between both the series is Amit Sadh, who portrays Inspector Kabir Sawant and his trusted junior Prakash Kamble played by Hrishikesh Joshi from the first season.
With 12 episodes of 45 minutes each, the story revolves around Delhi based psychiatrist Avinash Sabharwal and his wife Abha precisely plans murders in the city as per the demand of their child’s kidnapper. But the loosely written script fails to keep the attention alert and one can guess the antagonist before it is evident on the series.
