Bollywood Drugs case: NCB questioned Arjun Rampal, who’s next?
The Bollywood and its drug cartel were exposed when Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by NCB in Sushant Singh Rajput's death probe.
Troubles started brewing for Arjun Rampal and his girlfriend after NCB recovered certain restricted medicines from his residence that fall under the NDPS Act. Arjun Rampal’s residence was raided by NCB concerning the drug case investigation. The NCB also questioned his partner Gabriella Demetriades on Wednesday and Thursday, has also arrested his friend Paul Bartel, an official of the central agency said.
The Bollywood and its drug cartel were exposed when Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by NCB in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death probe. The chats between Rhea and her manager Jaya Saha contained many prominent names in the procurement and consumption of drugs.
After uncovering the chats, NCB sprung into action and has questioned many celebrities such as Deepika Padukone, Rakulpreet, Shraddha Kapoor, and Sara Ali Khan. But due to loopholes in the NDPS Act and lack of substantial evidence against them, they had to set free by the NCB.
Arjun Rampal was quizzed for over 7 hours and he has denied all allegations against him. His partner Gabriella also denied their involvement in the consummation of drugs. She specifically stated that Rampal had never consumed drugs. Arjun Rampal has specifically denied any involvement in drugs.
He has also added about having a prescription for the medicine that was found at his place and has produced the same in front of the officials. He further mentioned being cooperative with the central agency and said that they are doing a good job.
Meanwhile, the NCB has arrested his friend as he is having links with Gabriella’s brother Agisialos Demetriades who is under the custody of NCB for illegally procuring drugs. Paul Bartel is an Australian citizen and is working in Mumbai for a few years. NCB is investigating his involvement in the procurement of drugs. He was arrested on Thursday and has been produced before a magistrate on Friday and he has been sent to judicial custody.
Bollywood has an old connection with drugs and most of the celebrities consume drugs including the A-listers. Actress Kangana Ranaut has been quite vocal in criticizing the drug cartel of Bollywood. But now the industry is under the scanner of NCB and the agency is promptly probing the drug cartel.
NCB has also arrested four peddlers and suppliers in their probe who used to supply drugs to many celebrities. The latest in this whole episode is the seizure of banned drugs from Firoz Nadiadwala’s house and his wife being arrested by the agency.
