Launching a counterattack on Congress Party, the Bhartiya Janata Party, on Saturday, July 18, filed FIR against three Congress leaders including Randeep Surjewala and Govind Singh Dotasra. On Friday, July 17, the Congress leaders had released a transcript of an alleged telephonic call between BJP and Congress MLAs. Congress had claimed that BJP has been trying to destabilize the Gehlot government in Rajasthan.
In a letter given to the Section Officer of Ashok Nagar police station, BJP Rajasthan spokesperson Bhardwaj wrote, “Mahesh Joshi, Randeep Surjewala, and other accused have regularly been giving false and inflammatory statements against the BJP to criminally damage its reputation so that the blame for the current sorry state of affairs of the Congress can be pinned on the BJP. With the ill-intention of damaging the BJP’s reputation, a conspiracy was formed at the Chief Minister’s residence situated at 8 Civil lines”.
Bhardwaj said that Congress leaders Surjewala and Dotasra, during the press conference held on July 17 did not play any tape but read out the conversation publicly to sabotage BJP’s reputation.
In the complaint letter, Bhardwaj further said that Lokesh Sharma had already released three audiotapes to media workers on July 16, 2020, somewhere around 8:25 PM through Whatsapp with an intention to circulate the defamatory content on a large scale to satisfy their criminal intent. If they had the tape, why did they not play during the press conference?
Through the letter, the BJP Rajasthan spokesperson urged the police officer to file a complaint against Sharma, Surjewala, Dotasra, and others involved in the alleged conspiracy and take necessary action and recover the equipment used by them.
