As AAP continues playing petty politics, a 10,000-bed COVID care center gets ready in Delhi

It seems Delhi’s fight against coronavirus is slowly coming back on track. It also appears that the Delhi government has finally decided to go along with the central government in this fight. The Delhi and Central Governments came together to develop a 10,000-bed COVID Care Center in Delhi’s Chhattarpur area.

As the number of COVID19 cases in Delhi crosses 80,000 marks, this quarantine facility will help break the chain to a certain level. The government has named it the Sardar Patel COVID care center. It is built in collaboration with Radha Soami Satsang Beas and ITBP. The former provided the land and the later took over the development and maintenance work. Eventually, it is one of the largest COVID care centers in the world.

The Sardar Patel COVID care center is will treat mild and asymptomatic patients. It also has the capacity to provide oxygen support therapy on a section of the beds in case of drop-in any patients’ oxygen saturation. It has been reported that around 875 doctors will be put on-duty and a similar number of second medical staff will assist the doctors.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday, June 27, visited the center to oversee the overall arrangements. Amit Shah informed that the center will be operational in the next 3-4 days.

After his visit to the Sardar Patel COVID care center, Amit Shah tweeted, “I applaud our courageous ITBP personnel, who would be operating this COVID Care facility during these trying times. Their commitment to serving the nation and people of Delhi is unparalleled.”

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also accompanied Amit Shah. He also tweeted after the visit where he wrote, “In this hour of difficulty, I sought help to save Delhi and everyone has come forward to contribute enthusiastically. With the support of the Central government and Radha Soami Satsang Beas, such a large corona center has come up for Delhiites.”

While Arvind Kejriwal applauded the central government’s support in developing the center, his party member Sanjay Singh didn’t lose a chance to play his petty politics. Sanjay Singh accused Amit Shah of taking credit for this COVID care center. He claimed that this quarantine center was solely developed by the Delhi Government.

Indeed, for a moment it appeared that the Aam Aadmi Party has finally learned to work with its opposition for the sake of the general public. But, the tweet by Aam Aadmi Party’s leader and Arvind Kejriwal’s colleague Sanjay Singh is surely an eye-opener.
