Air India Express flight from Dubai crash lands at Kozhikode in Kerala

It is being reported that an Air India Express flight (IX-1344) crash landed at Kozhikode airport at around 7:40 PM on Friday, August 7. The flight had 191 passengers, including 6 crew members and 2 pilots, and was coming from Dubai. The flight was operating under the Vande-Bharat mission.
As per reports, all the passengers are safe. The injured have been rushed to hospitals. However, one pilot is reported dead in this whole episode. The official number of casualties are yet to come out.
As per the statement issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the reason for the crash is the heavy rains in Kerala. There was the visibility of almost 2000 meters which created difficulties for the pilots to keep the flight stable during landing. The flight split into two parts.
The Kozhikode airport is said to have a design of a table-top runway. As the pilot could not hold the flight, it skid on the runway and split into two. It was a Boing 737 aircraft.
