Many cities in India are witnessing the rebound of coronavirus infection. Some cities are choosing to tackle the situation through a blame-game, (refer to Delhi), while some are going ahead to risk a complete lockdown. Ahmedabad is one such city where its administration has decided to impose a ‘complete curfew’ from today, November 20.
The curfew period in Ahmedabad started from 9:00 pm of November 20 and will continue till the morning of November 23 at 6:00 am. The authorities went ahead of this decision to impose a marathon 57-hour curfew after a late-night review of the coronavirus situation in Ahmedabad.
Additional Chief Secretary (Forest and Environment) Rajiv Kumar Gupta announced on Twitter about the curfew in the city. He also mentioned that only shops selling milk and medicines shall be permitted to operate during curfew in Ahmedabad.
