The Hathras case has taken another twist on Wednesday, October 7 when all the four accused in the gang-rape case wrote a letter to the Superintendent of the Police claiming that girl’s mother and brother are responsible for her death.
The accused identified as Sandeep, Ramu, Lavkush, and Ravi sent the letter, which bears their thumb impression. In the letter, they also described all the details of the incident and claimed that they have been framed in the case by the girl’s mother and brother.
The main accused in the case, Sandeep also wrote in the letter that he and the girl knew each other and they were on talking terms. Eventually, the Call data Records of the accused and the victim testifies this claim. Accused Sandeep and the girl talked for as many as 104 times in the last six months over the phone.
The series of twists and turns and new revelations in the case is slowly making the plot very evident. Starting with the changes in the statements to the police, then to talking to the media secretly and being guided by them to blackmail the authorities, to denying the narco test and CBI inquiry, the victim’s family has gradually come under suspicions.
The government, on the other hand, has asked the Supreme Court to investigate the matter in whichever manner it wants. It has also asked the Supreme Court to depute a Court-monitored investigation. The government is also investigating the role of PFI and other politicians from Congress and the Samajwadi Party for their roles in inciting riots in the region.
